Salman J Salzam, was born on May 1, 1915 in Krasilov (Ukraine). He died in 2005 in Tel Aviv (Israel). Ukrainian, of Jewish origin, who participated in the Spanish Civil War in the International Brigades. Salzam arrived in Spain at the age of 22 years; After joining and arriving in Albacete, he was assigned to the Mackencie-Papineau Battalion, composed mostly of Canadian volunteers.
He fought in the front of the Ebro and lived the devastation of Belchite. He fought in the Second World War with the American troops. He worked on the localization and study of the Archives of the International Brigades in Moscow. This interview was held in Tarazona de la Mancha in 1998.
